And it sort of worked!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"450\" height=\"259\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UeBOeyl3-Ig?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how it worked&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->We started about playing with straws. You know how if you cut the end of a drinking straw into a reed, you can make it into an instrument?<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"450\" height=\"259\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cWb0aPf-TTA?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>By experimenting with different lengths of straw, we changed the note made by the straw. (You&#8217;d be surprised how much time we spent playing with this \ud83d\ude42 )<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"450\" height=\"259\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QNNbRG209kw?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Joining a couple of straws together made it even longer, and the pitch even lower.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"450\" height=\"259\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3YeHGR4gb3I?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Taking that idea to an extreme, we daisy-chained a bunch of straws together to make the note so low it was just a vibration. <\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"450\" height=\"259\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-Ze5Q7rS2Jc?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>We put a balloon over the end of the reed, and blew it up through the straw.
