And in my defence, the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Netbook\">wikipedia article for &#8220;Netbook&#8221;<\/a> says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The term netbook was introduced by Intel in February 2008 to describe a category of small-sized, low-cost, light weight, lean function subnotebooks optimized for Internet access and core computing functions<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t realise that the term has been around for a while though, until I came across an eight or nine year old bit of mobile tech history in <a href=\"http:\/\/rooreynolds.com\/2008\/07\/18\/moving-on-from-ibm\/\" target=\"_blank\">Roo&#8217;s old office<\/a> &#8211; a Psion Netbook. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/dalelane\/2725601138\/\" title=\"Netbooks: Then and now by dalelane, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" align=\"right\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3118\/2725601138_8311ffaa58_m.jpg\" style=\"border: thin black solid\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"10\" width=\"240\" height=\"151\" alt=\"Netbooks: Then and now\" \/><\/a>I&#8217;ve had a couple of Psions before (a Siena and a Series 5), but I&#8217;d never heard of the Netbook before. <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a similar size to my EEE PC, although a little heavier. It has a decent-sized keyboard, a 7.7&#8243; 640&#215;480 colour backlit screen, Opera 3.62 (with support for HTML 3.2), a Java 1.1.8 runtime, and a bunch of PIM-type apps.
