{"id":536,"date":"2009-03-11T22:17:01","date_gmt":"2009-03-11T22:17:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dalelane.co.uk\/blog\/?p=536"},"modified":"2009-03-11T22:17:45","modified_gmt":"2009-03-11T22:17:45","slug":"charity-auction-for-comic-relief","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dalelane.co.uk\/blog\/?p=536","title":{"rendered":"Charity auction for Comic Relief"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/solentyouthaction.org.uk\/sites\/default\/files\/090309_rndlogo.jpg\" align=\"left\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"10\"\/>I generally try and avoid using my blog to ask for help for Solent Youth Action &#8211; the last time I remember doing it was back in 2007 when I was looking for mentors for our <a href=\"http:\/\/dalelane.co.uk\/blog\/?p=182\">new mentoring scheme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So I hope you&#8217;ll forgive me now if I try and use my space here to ask for support for an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.solentyouthaction.org.uk\/?q=node\/75\">SYA event coming up<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>If you are near Hursley <strong>next Monday (16th)<\/strong> afternoon, please come along to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ibmhursleyclub.org.uk\/node\/421\" target=\"_blank\">Clubhouse<\/a> at <strong>2.30pm<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>Young volunteers for SYA are refurbishing old furniture: restoring it, cleaning it, and decorating it. They hadn&#8217;t done anything like this before, so it has been a great opportunity to them to learn new, practical skills. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: thin solid black\" src=\"http:\/\/solentyouthaction.org.uk\/sites\/default\/files\/090309_auction_before.jpg\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"10\" hspace=\"10\"\/>The furniture was all donated &#8211; these were items that otherwise would&#8217;ve been thrown away, making it also a good chance to teach a valuable <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.recyclenow.com\/\">reduce, reuse, recycle<\/a> message. <\/p>\n<p>The fruits of their labour will go on sale in a charity auction to be held in the Clubhouse, with all money received to be donated to Comic Relief. <\/p>\n<p>Please come along and take a look at what they&#8217;ve been working on. <\/p>\n<p>More details about the event, and the items of furniture that the young people are working on, can be found on the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.solentyouthaction.org.uk\/?q=node\/75\">SYA website<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I generally try and avoid using my blog to ask for help for Solent Youth Action &#8211; the last time I remember doing it was back in 2007 when I was looking for mentors for our new mentoring scheme.
