<\/p>\nI\u2019m back from an extended Easter break week in Devon. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Unusually (for me) I managed to ignore my laptop and the TV (with the notable exception of watching the new episodes of Doctor Who on Saturdays!<\/em>) all week. But I didn’t do anything tourist-y either. Instead…<\/p>\n I read a lot<\/strong><\/p>\n John Scalzi is always a lot of fun. (I think I might’ve read Redshirts<\/a> in Devon as well!) <\/p>\n The Sellout<\/a> was a thought-provoking, if challenging, read. <\/p>\n Politics On the Edge<\/a> was fascinating\u2026 especially as it was easy to read it in Rory Stewart\u2019s voice, as I listen to him regularly on The Rest Is Politics<\/a>. <\/p>\n I\u2019ve not quite finished The Dream Hotel<\/a> yet, but I\u2019ve read three-quarters of it – it\u2019s Minority Report, except in a way that you can actually believe could happen tomorrow. <\/p>\n I played a lot of games.<\/strong><\/p>\n Borderlands<\/a> and Laika: Aged Though Blood<\/a> were both new for this break, so I\u2019ve still got a lot left to do in both – but they\u2019re both great so far. I completed Katana Zero<\/a>, which was amazing<\/a>. And I completed Kentucky Route Zero<\/a>\u2026 which\u2026 felt like it was longer than it needed to be<\/a>. Mario Kart<\/a> is a regular holiday feature, as it\u2019s always good with the family.<\/p>\n And I walked.<\/strong><\/p>\n I walked for hours every day, losing myself in the middle of nowhere, and enjoying the views you earn from going up the (ridiculously steep!) hills that surround where we were staying.<\/p>\n Overall, it was a great break and chance to recharge.
