Another YouTube end of year recap – but while the last one was about what I’ve watched this year<\/a>, this one is about what I’ve uploaded to YouTube.<\/p>\n

I don’t really use YouTube as a platform in it’s own right – it’s just a free place to host videos I want to use to illustrate something in a blog post<\/a> or show someone a screen-recording of how to do something.<\/p>\n

I don’t upload regularly. Most of my videos<\/a> don’t make sense without the context of the blog post<\/a> or ML for Kids worksheet<\/a> I created it to be embedded in.<\/p>\n

All of this is to say that it’s hard to understand why I have any YouTube subscribers at all. But let’s see what YouTube has to say about them.<\/p>\n

This video is an embed in machinelearningforkids.co.uk\/about<\/a> so it makes sense that it’s the one that gets the most views.<\/p>\n

(I should really update it – it’s six years old, and more than a little out of date!)<\/p>\n

As analytics goes, I’m a little surprised at how weak the insights are in the #MyYearOnYouTube2025 report.<\/p>\n

The spike in views on July 4th is interesting… I’ve got no idea what caused that.<\/p>\n

The embedded video from machinelearningforkids.co.uk\/about<\/a> is the source of most views I had this year… more than the next nine videos combined. The rest mostly get views from my blog posts they’re embedded in, and my blog doesn’t get anywhere close to the level of traffic that Machine Learning for Kids does.<\/p>\n

Amazed to see that I get any views on TVs!<\/p>\n

Surprising to see how few of my views are from the UK… I kind of assumed that most of my views would be local.<\/p>\n

These year-in-review reports are often not available for long beyond Christmas, so I’m storing them as blog posts in case I want to look at them again in future. I’m tagging them with 2025-year-in-review<\/a> as I get them.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
