My <a href=\"https:\/\/backloggd.com\/u\/dalelane\/recap\/\">end-of-year recap<\/a> is at <a href=\"https:\/\/backloggd.com\/u\/dalelane\/recap\/\">backloggd.com\/u\/dalelane\/recap<\/a> which is the best place to look at it, but I&#8217;ve made a copy here.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->I played 122 games in 2025. I played at least one video game on 320 days of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Those numbers surprise me a little&#8230; how is that possible?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/01-games.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>101 of those were just regular games, with 21 expansions, remakes, and DLCs making up the total number.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/02-types.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>I try and <a href=\"https:\/\/backloggd.com\/u\/dalelane\/reviews\/\">review and rate games<\/a> once I&#8217;ve completed them &#8211; these are the ratings I gave, and the six games I gave the highest rating to.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/03-top-ratings.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Some of my ratings are out of kilter with the rest of the community&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/04-over-rating.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/05-under-rating.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Switch and Switch 2 together make up 46.2% of where I&#8217;ve played games this year.<\/p>\n<p>The Playdate is next at 25.6%, then my iPad at 11.1%, and my Xbox at only 8.5%. (My Xbox really didn&#8217;t get a lot of love last year!)<\/p>\n<p>After that, it&#8217;s a mixture of retro gaming, but not as much as previous years.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/06-platforms.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>I was surprised to see games released in 2025 making up 18.9% of what I played&#8230; but over half of that are the games from <a href=\"https:\/\/play.date\/games\/seasons\/two\/\">Playdate Season Two<\/a>. I don&#8217;t play a lot of console games the year they&#8217;re released.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/07-release.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Everyone loves badges.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/08-badges.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/16-badges.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>My year in gaming&#8230; the colour-code is perhaps a little counter-intuitive. The lighter the colour, the more games I played that day. The darker the colour, the fewer games I played. With black \/ dark-grey days being when I didn&#8217;t play any game.<\/p>\n<p>The bright white spots are the days I played a <strong>lot<\/strong> &#8211; unsurprisingly, those are holiday weeks.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/09-journal.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Games that I played the most, in terms of number of days played:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/10-most-days.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>How many different games I played each month, with the game I played the most at the top:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/11-games-per-month.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>My completion rate feels a little low&#8230; mostly because there are a bunch of games that I&#8217;m still in the middle of and intend to complete &#8211; but didn&#8217;t finish before the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/12-completion.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Balatro got a little addictive for a bit! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/13-journal-stats.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>I played nearly 98 hours of Cyberpunk in 2025. It&#8217;s amazing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/14-most-played.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Fulcrum Defender was a little easy on the first release, but a post-release update rebalanced it a bit and added additional difficulty levels. It&#8217;s still a great game.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/15-speed-run.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>And here they are&#8230; the games I played in 2025 &#8211; in order of when I first played them in 2025.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/17-games.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/18-games.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/19-games.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/20-games.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.dalelane.co.uk\/2026-01-01-backloggd\/21-games.jpg?raw=true\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 550px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p><em>These year-in-review reports are often not available for long beyond Christmas, so I\u2019m using my blog as somewhere to save them.
