NOTE: I initially created this site while still at University, and stopped updating it several years ago. I'm leaving it here as most of the stuff here is probably still true, but please note that most is almost certainly out of date.

I've started making an up-to-date CV at cv.dalelane.co.uk

I spent five years working as a volunteer for Samaritans - responding to callers by phone, email and in person.

In addition to work as a listening volunteer, I also spent a year as a trustee of the Southampton branch, worked as a day leader providing a team leader role for the branch, and organised and ran training for both new and experienced volunteers.
What is Samaritans?
Samaritans provides confidential emotional support, 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide.
You don't have to be suicidal to call. Samaritans are there if you're worried about something, feel upset or confused, or you just want to talk to someone.
