The inspiration for this
project came from the wonderful last.fm
The visualisations on the website were created using the
lovely Open Flash Chart 2, and wordle.
The event-capturing code is hacked together using Python.
Events are captured on my home theatre PC - which is an Asrock Ion 330 running vdr on Ubuntu Linux. TV
watching events are stored in an SQLite database
The webpage-generating code is also a hacky mess of
Python. A cron job runs the Python script each night,
generating updated graphs and visualisations, and
uploading them to the web server.
Support for commenting and discussion on each page is
provided by disqus
The visualisations webpage template was knocked together
very quickly using the awesome YUI Grids Builder.
