I am on the Steering Group for my local Millennium Volunteers project - a national scheme which aims to facilitate, encourage and support young people to volunteer.

Blue Fusion, IBM, Winchester	Oct 2003 - May 2005
I was a Team Leader for the organisers of Blue Fusion - an annual IBM event run as part of National Science Week. Our aim was to educate and motivate young people about science & technology.

I am a mentor with On The Level - a Rethink project which provides mentoring to young people leaving care.

I was a mentor with Mentoring Plus - a youth crime prevention project. It involved working with a young adult on an intensive mentoring and education programme over the course of a year.

Crime Concern, Bath	Mar 2001 - May 2003
I helped with Crime Concern's youth work programme, supporting and working with young offenders and young adults considered at risk of offending.

Widening Participation, Bath	Nov 1999 - May 2003
I got involved in a variety of activities as a part of Widening Participation - an initiative which aims to raise the aspirations of those currently under-represented in Higher Education.

Bath Taps Into Science, Bath	Mar 2000, 2001, 2002
I helped at the award-winning Science Fair run as part of National Science Week. The aim was to inspire and educate young people in Science & Technology with interactive displays.

Schools Careers Advice, Bath	Sep 2001 - Sep 2002
I was involved in the Careers Advice programme in local schools, running mock interviews for Year 11 students and providing feedback to give them a chance to learn interview skills.

Mencap Summer Playscheme, Newbury	Jul - Aug 1996, 1997
A playscheme for mentally and/or physically handicapped children, run during the summer holidays. I would be given a child to look after for each day.
