I was responsible for representing my University on a number of occasions. A few examples are listed below.
Representing the University
UCAS Day Coordinator |
1st, 2nd, 4th year |
|
I was the co-ordinator of my department's Open Days for
applicants. This involved looking after applicants - trying to give them an insight into
the University by giving campus tours, answering questions and getting them ready for
interviews. It also involved recruiting enough volunteers to help with this every week.

|
Prospectus |
3rd year |
|
I was included in the
Prospectus for
the Computer Science department at my University.

|
Widening Participation: Aiming Higher |
2nd, 4th year |
|
I was involved in Widening Participation - a scheme for local
secondary school students who might not have considered aiming for Higher Education to see what
HE is all about, through activities and campus visits.
This included preparing and delivering the Aiming Higher activity days, talking to students and
parents at school Parents' Evenings and giving talks and tours around campus.

Welcoming visitors |
All years |
|
I was responsible for greeting and introducing guests to the
University on a number of occasions. Examples include graduate recruiters coming to give
presentations for students, local councillors coming to the Prize Giving Evenings and delegates
from nearby universities.
|
|
Sixth Form talks |
2nd, 4th year |
|
I gave a number of talks at local 6th Forms - talking about
Higher Education, and life at University. Some were questions-and-answers sessions, and some
were prepared presentations on topics such as health, housing, money and courses.

|
Open Days |
All years |
|
I helped at Open Days by giving campus tours for prospective
students and their parents.
