Last year, Grace tagged along with me to Barcamp Berkshire. She gave a talk, and it went pretty well.
I guess she must’ve enjoyed it, because today she came along with me to Barcamp Bournemouth.

I’ll write a post about what she talked about later, as it was actually pretty interesting. First, I want to get the shameless proud dad post out of the way. š
As she’d done it before, I thought she might find it easier this time. She didn’t – I think she still found it very scary. But she was determined to do it, and I thought she did a great job.
People seemed to enjoy it, and I saw a bunch of kind comments on twitter:

There were a couple of funny moments, too.
A room of adults is getting math wrong that a 9 year old is doing on the board #BCBOMO6

After her talk she got a bunch of questions about everything from what else she likes at school to what she wants to do when she’s older.
Developers trying to get Grace to stop learning maths and rely on technology XD #BCBOMO6 #DadSaysNo

It wasn’t until towards the end of my time at University before I was able to stand in front of an audience and give a talk. She’s still in primary school.
I’m really very proud that she was willing to give it a go, let alone do a decent job of giving an interesting talk to a large group of adults she doesn’t know.
